The G-wagen’s exterior has barely changed since it was first introduced to the world in 1979. There’s a reason for that: its iconic design is just fine as is. The G63 and the G65 are simply G-classes that have bodybuilding images as their figurative screensavers.
What’s New for 2018?
Mercedes keeps the AMG G-wagens fresh (not really) by adding new packages for 2018. This includes the Mojave package with Olive Magno paint and the AMG Performance Studio package with Monza Gray Magno paint and more chrome and carbon-fiber exterior accents. Orange Metallic and Ocean Blue Metallic also join the list of optional colors.
Other than these new options, the exteriors of the 2018 G63 and G65 are the same as the 2017 models. For more information on the exteriors, you can read our in-depth review.
