The gloriously devilish Cadillac CTS-V wagon is an automotive unicorn in the best sense. And it’s now a little more accessible-to a select few, at least. A 2014 CTS-V wagon is available to reserve for Los Angeles members of the Book by Cadillac program, a monthly subscription service that allows access to a whole fleet of Caddies that now includes this supercharged longroof.
Cadillac sees this new offering, which was added to the roster in May, as a sort of extra perk for those who pay the monthly rate of $1800 that covers registration, taxes, insurance, maintenance, and 2000 miles per month. The fleet is otherwise comprised of several of Cadillac’s current models, including the high-performance ATS-V and current-generation CTS-V sedan. Reserving the wagon on the Book by Cadillac app is no different than any other model-although Cadillac says that it’s been in high demand so far and will only be available for a limited time. Unfortunately, the wagon on offer is not a manual like our long-term CTS-V wagon was, but we certainly wouldn’t kick it out of our garage.

Unfortunately for Book by Cadillac customers in New York and Dallas, the car is limited to subscribers whose home base is Los Angeles. Book by Cadillac hasn’t yet expanded to include multi-city services, although a Cadillac spokesperson said this is in the works. If this CTS-V wagon is enough to convince you to sign up for Book by Cadillac, you must apply for membership approval, pay a $500 initial fee, and then pay the $1800 monthly charge. It’s a month-to-month commitment, so you can cancel anytime-but after you’ve had a go in the wagon, of course.
